Earlham [Aug. 25th, 2008|11:42 pm]
[Current Mood |disappointed]
[Current Music |Charlotte Mittnacht (The Fabulous Destiny Of...)- DeVotchKa]

So Earlham sucks and I regret ever applying there. It is great for some and the people are really nice and helpful and I am sure it is a wonderful college. But I shouldn't have stayed in Richmond. I should have gone off like everyone else. fuck. So I am already looking into transfering to IU. Too bad some of my Earlham credits won't transfer because they are retarded. Well thats all.

Bonnaroo [Jun. 21st, 2008|01:05 am]
[Current Music |Cracked LCD- Ladytron]

So Bonnaroo was awesome. We rode down on Wednesday morning after i finally got a new licnese.  The ride down was pretty long but most of that was probably anticipation. The first day of the concert was actually spent trying to figure out the concert site and where everything was. We did see Grand Ole Party, MGMT, Battles, and Vampire Weekend. Grand Ole Party were pretty awesome. They sorta sounded like a southern yeah yeah yeahs. Friday started out with Brandi and Chel surprising me with candles in a donut for my Birthday. It was sweet. That was our biggest concert day. We saw Tegan and Sara, !!!, M.I.A., The Raconteurs, MSTRKRFT, A little Tiesto and My Morning Jacket, and then Superjam. MSTRKRFT definitly won that evening. I danced like I have never danced before. Man they were awesome. Saturday we saw Gogol Bordello and ended up in a mosh pit lol. Then we relaxed to Cat Power and a little Iron and Wine. We finished that day with Sigur Ros. I can't even but into words how awesome Sigur Ros was. They made me cry like a little girl. Sunday the only band we saw was Ladytron. They were amazing and we were in the front row. wow. So i really hope we do it next year. And i hope we camp. That would be awesome.

Spring [Apr. 21st, 2008|04:03 pm]
[Current Mood |optimistic]
[Current Music |The Beat Dies- The Raveonettes]

I am so excited that spring is here. The leaves are started to bud and the magnolia in my front yard is beautiful. I came home from school and opened all of the windows in my house. The air spells so good. I think I will get out my bike and go for a nice spring ride.

Concerts, College, Sunglasses [Apr. 7th, 2008|04:58 pm]
[Current Mood |hopeful]
[Current Music |Atmosphere-Joy Division]

So my spring break was pretty good. I didn't go anywhere amazing and exotic. Just Indianapolis, twice. It started on the friday before the break started. Brandi Chel and I went to Hamilton on a little thrifting excursion. I got some really cool things. I hope that the fun we had is a preview of what is to come for the summer. Bonnaroo is going to be awesome. I am glaad we finally got our tickets. I owe my mom almost $300 but at least I know we have a guaranteed spot. I am most excited to see Ladytron, Sigur Ros, Gogol Bordello, MGMT, !!!, And of course Cat Power. I think Blaine, Andrew and I are going to see DeVotchKa and A Silver Mt. Zion. Seeing the latter will be a religious experience. I invest so much emotion and reverance into their music that I will be deeply affected by seeing them.

I also got my information from Earlham the other day. They raised the tuition to $34 thousand but they are giving me almost $30 thousand. If you think I was excited you should have seen my mom. We are going to split it up among my Dad, Mom and I. That means at least $1000 of my income every year has to go to Earlham. I hope I can still make enough to maintain my thrifting addiction. I can't wait until I get paid again. I will have to give $97 of it to my mom, but a large portion will go to myself. I will probably buy more sunglasses. I just bought 2 pairs of clear lensed 50s glasses (one black and one tortoise) and the checkered wayfarers( which all cost $60 altogether...yea i know). I love wayfarers. I already have three pairs in black, red, and tortoise (latter being actually vintage). I still want some white ones and these cool turqoise ones with purple lenses. I think also want regular black ones because the ones I have have a reddish-purple tint to them. Ok I need to stop rambling about sunglasses.
